| | | | #1 - The Exorcist Objective: Defeat all enemies within the time limit. | | | | Where to find: Mission 3. It's in a door of a building on the right side of 13th Slum Avenue. Press O beside it to activate. Strategy: You are given 1 minute to defeat all the enemies. Use your strongest and most comfortable weapons and Devil Trigger if you already have them, and take them out ASAP. For Dante, Swordmaster or Gunslinger is recommended. | | | | #2 - Untouchable Objective: Defeat all enemies while taking no damage. | | | | Where to find: Mission 5. It's on the wall with a red light in the Surge of Fortunas. Press O to activate. Strategy: Dash/roll/jump when the Enigmas shoot at you and quickly defeat them one by one when they're not attacking. Stinger and a few slashes should finish each of them fast enough, or you can use Quicksilver if you want to be extra safe. With Vergil, Spiral Swords, Starfall, Stinger and Helm Breaker should be enough to do the job. | | | | #3 - Death From Above Objective: Stay in the air for 20 seconds or more. | | | | Where to find: Beginning of Mission 7. Kick jump the wall to land on a ledge. Press O to activate. Strategy: You can easily do this without the help of Nevan's Air Raid. Switch to Swordmaster style and equip both Rebellion and Agni & Rudra (A&R). Go to a corner and wait for the Hell Prides to gather near you. Kick jump the wall and repeat this: Aerial Rave + Sword Dance + Aerial Rave + Sword Dance ...etc It will keep you in the air for about 5 seconds, then when you are about to fall, kick jump off the enemies' heads towards the corner and repeat the process. Try not to hit the enemies when you perform Aerial Rave/Sword Dance. It will kill them in a few hits, resulting in less heads to kick jump off. In the case of Vergil, use only Aerial Rave. Video demonstration - Dante Video demonstration - Vergil | | | | #4 - Devil's Teetor-totter Objective: Ride the elevator to the top. | | | | Where to find: Beginning of Mission 8. It's behind some wooden planks in the hull of the ship at the back of Leviathan's Stomach. Destroy the planks, then press O near the door to activate. Regular strategy: Pushing the DT'ed enemies away may be harder than said since these Hell Prides often guard your moves. If you're in Easy/Normal mode, you may find it easier to just kill them. Using Beowulf's fully charged Volcano for Dante is one way, but make sure it is done at the right time. Using DTE (Devil Trigger Explosion) is another way although it will cost you a lot of DT slots and you will need to use Devil Stars to replenish them. To perform DTE effectively, you will need at least 6~7 DT slots. Hold L1 until your DT slots starting from the 4th turn red, then release it when the enemies surround you. Another way for Dante is to use Kalina Ann's rocket launcher to blow them away. For Vergil, use Force Edge and Summoned Swords and Stinger a lot. [Thanks to DarKaoz] DTE example: Pic 1 > Pic 2 > Pic 3 > Pic 4 > Pic 5 Glitch strategy for Dante: This glitch works like a charm - In Trickster style, wait and stand by one of the four pillars supporting the elevator. After the first wave of enemies appear, kick jump the pillar and at the tip of the jump perform Wall Hike (you must keep tilting the left analog towards the pillar). Eventually Dante will flip backwards in the air at the end of Wall Hike and land back on the elevator platform below, but the enemies would have magically disappeared. Then rinse and repeat until the end. Note: The enemies disappear wave by wave. There're a total of four waves of enemies, so you'll have to repeat the glitch 4 times. Video demo - SM #4 (Glitch method) - Dante Glitch strategy for Vergil: Wait and stand by one of the four pillars supporting the elevator. After the first wave of enemies appear, kick jump the pillar and at the tip of the jump perform Air Trick (he should teleport to an even higher height). If you did it right, it'll cause the elevator platform to leave the screen for a split second and by the time you land back on it, the enemies would have magically disappeared. Then rinse and repeat until the end. If you have difficulties performing Air Trick and often end up doing Trick instead, try this - After the jump kick, tilt your left analog towards the center of the elevator and do Aeriel Rave (1 hit) first, and then Air Trick. Doing Aerial Rave will get Vergil to face the right direction in order to perform Air Trick properly/easily as all the enemies are located in the center of the elevator. Video demo - SM #4 (Glitch method) - Vergil | | | | #5 - Destroyer Objective: Destroy every destructable background object within the time limit. | | | | Where to find: Mission 9/10. Once you enter the Limestone Cavern, keep going to the right until you see an opening in the wall. Jump onto it and a little further, you will see the wall shining red. Press O beside it to activate. Strategy: No actual strategy as everyone will eventually do it right, but I do recommend using Rebellion or A&R. Note: This secret mission may be the best place for you to earn red orbs if you lack and need them. | | | | #6 - Flight of the Demon Objective: Collect every red orb within the time limit. | | | | Where to find: Mission 10. It's to the right of the pedestral from which you obtain the Neo-Generator key item. Press O near the tombstone look-alike object in the corner to activate. Strategy: You are given 30 seconds to collect all 50 orbs in the area. You must use Nevan's Air Raid, and maybe Devil Stars, to do this (unless you're using super Dante). There is a fixed route you take to accomplish this. Follow that route and make sure you don't run out of DT. Use a Devil Star if necessary. Typically you would need to try this several times before you get the hang of it. I recommend doing this after you've maxed out your DT slots (10 of them), or if you'd like, practice first with super Dante. For Vergil, start by following the trail of red orbs lined in front of you. Keep following the trail until you get to a point where you have to get onto 2 ledges consecutively. To get onto the first ledge, you have to kick jump the wall and land on the ledge to the right. The wall is slippery and it may take a few tries. Then, from the first ledge, kick jump the wall to the left and perform Trick Up to help yourself onto the ledge easier. This may also take a number of tries to get used to. After getting onto the second ledge, stand on the edge where the ledge sticks out and jump to the right to grab the first of two red orbs in the air. Once you get the first one, perform a Trick Up to get the second one. Remember to use DT for this mission. | | | | #7 - Hang 10 Objective: Obtain the blue orb fragment within the time limit. | | | | Where to find: Beginning of Mission 11. It's on the left above this ledge. You'll have to double jump onto it. First jump away from the ledge you're on, then Air Hike onto the ledge on top. For Vergil, jump towards the pillar close to the platform and do a kick jump, then use Yamato to change Vergil's facing direction if necessary, and perform Trick Up to get onto the ledge. [Thanks to DarKaoz] Strategy: You are given 30 seconds to run to the other side of the area. This is a really easy mission if you have 7~10 DT slots, so that you won't have to use any Devil Star. Literally, just run to the destination with DT activated, and ignore all enemies. A harder way would be to perform consecutive free rides (only applicable to Dante). This will require a lot of skill. | | | | #8 -Tough Guys Objective: Destroy every enemy. | | | | Where to find: Mission 13. Press O by the red light you'll find along the spiral stairway. Strategy: You'll be facing 3 Arachnes, 2 Queen Arachnes and 2 Hell Vanguards with no time limit. Just use your normal strategy to beat them, but note that the Hell Vanguards will keep repeating Hellgate (warp attack) when their life is low. | | | | #9 - Target Practice Objective: Do not let a single enemy escape. | | | | Where to find: Mission 13. It's on a hidden ledge on the top of this wall. Kick jump onto it and press O to activate. Strategy: All you do in this mission is solely shooting, so you may want to switch to Gunslinger style. Shoot the Hell Wraths first to inflict massive damage on the others, and keep shooting. If they get by too fast and you're having problems, use Quicksilver. The rest is self explanatory. Another way is to use Spiral's Trickshot (Gunslinger style). [Thanks to Krizy] For Vergil, upgrade his Summoned Swords to max. When the last wagon arrives with 3 Hell Wraths, you may need to use Holy Water. The only way to do this without Holy Water is to do this secret mission on Easy mode. | | | | #10 - Guiding Light Objective: Solve the crystal puzzle. | | | | Where to find: Mission 16. It's in the white door to the right of where you find the Golden Sun key item. Strategy: Like all the previous light puzzles you've faced, your goal is to reflect the light from one mirror to the other by breaking some of the unnecessary reflectors. For those who seek immediate answers, look below: Strategy: Puzzle 1 , Puzzle 2 , Puzzle 3 , Puzzle 4 , Puzzle 5 , Puzzle 6 Answers: Answer 1 , Answer 2 , Answer 3 , Answer 4 , Answer 5 , Answer 6 | | | | #11 - On Pins and Needles Objective: Avoid the spikes and obtain the blue orb. | | | | Where to find: Mission 17. It's along the middle ledge you can jump onto in the Pitch-black Void. Strategy: This is just like the Trial of Skill in mission 6, only faster. For Dante, use Trickster's Dash if you're having problems. | | | | #12 - Final Ascension Objective: Obtain the blue org fragment. | | | | Where to find: Mission 18. In the Road to Despair, walk over the edge to the left of the giant stone feet where the mirror floats above. Follow the 3 red orbs lying around and press O by the relief on the wall to activate. Strategy (Dante): - Start by going over to the cube that stands right against the wall with a moving rotating cube above it.
- From that cube, jump onto the rotating cube above when it's going from left to right.
- Then kick jump the wall from the rotating cube and perform Wall Hike to the RIGHT. Dante should flip from the wall onto the long block that emerges from the wall.
- Stand against the wall on the block you're currently on and wait until the other block to your right recedes back into the wall. Then jump + Sky Star onto the first platform with the black/silver door.
- From this platform with the door, look over the edge of the platform. You should see a single cube moving up and down. Jump onto it.
- Turn your camera so that you face the platform with the door and wait until the cube you're on moves up. Notice that there's another moving cube in front of you. Carefully jump onto it.
- Turn your camera around to see 2 rotating cubes in the distance moving up and down. One is against the wall, the other's right near it. Notice that the one NOT against the wall eventually moves up higher. THIS is the one you'll have to get on.
- When the cube you're currently on moves close enough to it, carefully jump onto it and keep yourself on it. Be careful not to fall off or you'll have to redo everything.
- Soon enough the rotating cube you're on will move up high enough and you'll see the platform with a blue orb fragment. Jump onto it and congratulations.

- From that cube, jump onto the rotating cube above when it's going from left to right.
- Then kick jump the wall to the right from the rotating cube. Vergil should land on the long block that emerges from the wall.
- Immediately after you land, proceed to jump + Trick Up onto the other block across you. If it totally recedes back into the wall, you will have to retry from the start.
- After landing on this 2nd block, quickly get over to the platform with the black/silver door to avoid falling back to ground floor.
- Wait here for the block you just got off from to emerge out of the wall again, then jump onto it and face the wall.
- Notice that there is a moving cube approaching Vergil from behind. Kick jump the wall you're facing and allow Vergil to flip backwards and land on the cube.
- While on this cube, turn your camera around to see 2 rotating cubes in the distance moving up and down.
Jump + Trick Up onto it and congratulations.
